Do you know what does a simple tax declaration (single, no properties, securities, cars, etc.) cost in Zurich?

I paid for my first tax return about 500 CHF. But my tax situation is a bit complicated/extensive. I suppose, you’ll have to pay much less.

I would recommend you to search for a suitable treuhander here https://treuhand-suche.ch/companies
You can use a filter for searching of necessary services and canton of residence. The costs for a simple tax declaration depend of the chosen company. Usually the prices range from CHF 200 till CHF 800.

Last year I paid CHF 1`000 in Basel for preparing my tax return. This year I found another company that made it for CHF 600.

To tell the truth I paid CHF 40 for my tax return 2019. I am very surprised that there are such high prices.
I have a property abroad and a car. Don`t think that my declaration was easy. Sometimes it is better to look for a low prices)))

I have got a property in Poland, car and I am single. But I paid 920 Fr. the Co from Big 4.

Also we have an article about the prices for Swiss accountants services. We have conducted a survey and found out that prices for expats tax declarations are often higher than for Swiss citizens. The key reason is that most of expats do often own a property in their home countries and most of the documents provided are not in German or English.
Due to this reason the consultant requires more time to prepare tax declaration for an expat compared to a Swiss citizen.
In any case we would recommend to request several offers from different consultants and compare the prices they provide.

Of course, you can find many bargain at low prices in the tax return`s market, as Soften says. But usually these so called "treuhänder" palm you off on to various insurances. In fact your taxes are irrelevant for them. As result the quality of the tax returns is questionable.

Be careful and Santa will bring you a present 🤣

Totally agree with SantaMidnight. I have had such an experience. The declaration was filled out quickly, but then they insistently offered me insurance services. I would recommend all to pay more but without a headache in the future.
